After receiving the patients informed consent, we began the following treatment in July 2019: Combined therapy with oral antioxidants propolis 700 mg + bilberry 180 mg + silymarin 400 mg + ginkgo biloba 240 mg + L-carnitine 1000 mg + coenzyme Q10 100 mg + Boswellia 200 mg + vitamin E 48 mg + vitamin C 50 mg + superoxide dismutase 11,000 IU/g 10 mg/daily + topical diclofenac gel 4%/2 daily + peri-plaque penile injection of pentoxifylline 100 mg with 30 G needle every month for 12 months
The sample from each treatment condition was distributed equally into twelve tubes and subjected to heating at different temperatures (the first 9 tubes with one gradient cycle with temperatures 37.0, 41.7, 45.8, 49.7, 53.5, 57.4, 61.3, 64.3, 67.0 C and the remaining 3 tubes with a second gradient cycle with temperatures 70.0, 73.6, 82.7 C to completely precipitate PDE) in the MasterCycler EpGradient S (Eppendorf SE, DE)
